Louise Archambault
Filmmaker
A screenwriter and director, Louise was first noticed with Atomic Saké, a film that travelled the world and won a Jutra award for best short film. Her film Familia was sold internationally and won the award for Best Canadian First Feature Film at TIFF and the Genie Awards.
In 2013, Louise directed episodes of the TV series La Galère and launched her feature Gabrielle at the Locarno International Film Festival where it was awarded the Public Prize. Gabrielle had an excellent run and was selected as Canada’s entry for the Oscars and Golden Globes. La Presse and Radio-Canada named her Personality of the year – Arts and Entertainment.
Louise Archambault is currently working on screenplays for future feature films. She recently directed episodes of the series Nouvelle adresse, which aired on Radio-Canada in spring 2015, as well as in its English version, This Life, which aired on CBC during fall 2015.
François Avard
Author
François Avard is an author and a screenwriter. Among other things, he is, the creator of the TV series Les Bougon, c’est aussi ça la vie. For the past 25 years he has collaborated with various artists, mostly in television and comedy. Actually, he’s a good fellow.
Piotr Dumala
Filmmaker
Piotr Dumala was born in Warsaw, Poland. He is an animation and live-action film director, illustrator, graphic and poster designer, writer, professor at the National Film School (Poland), a former professor at the Konstfack College of Arts, Crafts and Design (Sweden) and at Harvard University (USA). Since his film debut in 1980, he has received over 90 prizes, including the Grand Prix at festivals in Krakow, Zagreb, Espinho, Ottawa, Amsterdam, Cyprus and Quebec.
Marcel Jean
Director, Producer
Marcel Jean is a producer, director and a screenwriter. Co-author of the Dictionnaire du cinéma québécois, author of the Dictionnaire des films québécois and several books on animated film, he was Head of the NFB’s French program animation studio from 1999 to 2005.
The films he produced have garnered more than 150 awards. As well as being Head of the documentary program at L’Institut national de l’image et du son (INIS) from 2012 to 2015, he taught film at the Université de Montréal from 1986 to 2013.
In June 2012, he became artistic delegate at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. In May 2015 he was named General Director of the Cinémathèque québécoise. Marcel Jean is the 7th recipient of the International Award for Outstanding Contribution to Animation Studies, which he accepted in Zagreb, Croatia.
Ève Landry
Actress
After finishing her studies at the Conservatoire d’art dramatique de Montréal, Ève Landry has mainly worked in theatre (Éclats et autres libertés, Je suis Cobain, Chante avec moi, Le Chant de Sainte Carmen de la Main, République du bonheur, J’accuse). On the small screen, she played the role of Jeanne in the series Unité 9, directed by Jean-Philippe Duval and produced by Aetios. She also appeared in Les Boys, Virginie, Rumeur and Penthouse 5-0, as well as in the documentary fiction Un monde sans pitié. She landed a film role in 2009 in Jean-Philippe Duval’s Dédé à travers les brumes. Active in improvisation, Ève continues to explore this art within the LNI (national improvisation league).
Jean-Marie Lanlo
Jean-Marie Lanlo is the editor-in-chief for cinefilic.com and a critic with Séquences magazine. He’s been a member of several juries for the Association québécoise des critiques du cinéma (FNC, Fantasia, Prends ça court). He recently became the director of the L’instant ciné collection for Les éditions L’instant même.
Prendra Mazumder
Premendra Mazumder is a very versatile member of the film industry. As a critic, he writes for various publications throughout the world. Very active in film institutions, he’s the secretary general of the Federation of Film Societies of India, president of India’s Circle of Film Critics and secretary of the Association of Indian Film Critics.
Claire Valade
A critic for the Séquences magazine for almost 20 years, Claire Valade has worked in Montreal’s cultural and film communities since the late 80’s. From 1992 to 2002, she collaborated with several festivals including FNC. While she makes a living as a proofreader and translator, she is also a screenwriter and filmmaker in her off-hours (5 Prismes – 2003, Chez-nous – 2005). She is presently working on her first book.
Gervais Arcand
Retired person
A native of Roberval in the Lac Saint-Jean region and recently retired following a career in the pulp and paper industry, Gervais has been an active member of the troupe Théâtre Mic-Mac for three years. An avid walker, snowshoer and cyclist, he also sits on the Ciné-club de Roberval organizing committee.
Stacy Desbiens
Administrative agent
Stacy is a telephone service administrative agent at CIUSSS Jonquiere (integrated university center of health and social services) and a mother of three boys who love movies. A film lover herself, she is also a multi-instrumentalist and is passionate about anything related to arts. She loves discovering local talent.
Marilou Guay
Student
Originally from Alma, Marilou lived in Quebec for a few years before returning to the region to study film and theatre at UQAC. She is passionate about film, art and culture in general. A committed REGARD fan, it is with great pleasure and trepidation that she will be part of the festival this year as a member of the Public Jury.
Philippe Bélanger
What interests me about this event is the discovery of new short films. I’m passionate about films. Being a part the Young Cinephile Jury is therefore a great opportunity for me.
Samuel Martel
The interesting thing is to take an in-depth look at short films from different countries. It’s also a way to constructively criticize, whether it be for originality, creativity, the conveyed message or direction. It’s a way for me to get involved socially

REGARD’s Young Cinephile Jury is a project that interests me very much because it allows me to discover something new. It’s also a major undertaking that will require personal effort and will teach me much more about short films. .
Chloé Robichaud

In 2013, Chloé Robichaud, director and scriptwriter, is named for the second year in a row as part of the official Cannes Festival selection for her first full-length film, Sarah Prefers To Run. In 2012, her film Chef de meute was also presented at Cannes, nominated for the Short Film Award. Chloé also created the web serie Féminin/féminin, which earned global recognition since its launch. She is currently working on the editing of her upcoming movie, Pays, in which she follows the life of women in politics, set to be released in 2016.
Patrice Laliberté
Filmmaker, scriptwitter
Patrice Laliberté is a scriptwriter and director. He has signed his name on many short films, including his most recent one, Viaduc, which won the Best Canadian Short Film Award at the Toronto International Film Festival 2015. He has also worked on web series. He was nominated at the Gala des Olivier of 2012 for the serie Offre d’emploi screened on Lib.tv and in 2013 for La boîte à malle, available on the Sympatico and Ztélé websites. This last serie was nominated at the Gala des Prix Gémeaux 2013.
Philippe David Gagné
Filmmaker
Philippe David Gagné has a multidisciplinary Bachelor’s degree in film. Since his first film Sur la glace (2005), his works have garnered prizes throughout the world. Having been chosen for multiple SODEC and CALQ awards, Philippe David has been directing reports and documentaries for Télé-Québec and TV5 since 2008. In 2015, his latest short, Bleu tonnerre (Blue Thunder), had the honour of being selected by the Quinzaine des réalisateurs (Directors’ Fortnight) at the 47th annual Festival de Cannes. With regard to his first feature Boutefeu, selected this year by Atelier Grand Nord, it is in the process of being written.
William Laboury
Director
After taking classes about history of art and editing, William Laboury attended school at La Fémis in Paris. He is now a director and editor which has worked on all types of pieces; filmed, reused, or created from scratch.
