Saguenay international
short film festival

De l’Âme à l’Écran

De l’Âme à l’Écran
(DAE) festival, ingeniously conceived as the REGARD Festival's junior counterpart, was initiated to cater to the cinematic appetites of those pursuing collegiate education. Since 2012, our partnership with DAE has been a testament to our shared zeal for the art of short filmmaking. Unfolding in tandem with the REGARD Festival, this event also graces the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean area, with the Cégep de Jonquière playing host to the festivities.

De l’Âme à l’Écran extends an invitation to hundreds of young enthusiasts to delve into the cinematic universe. This exploration is facilitated through a rich tapestry of educational conferences and activities, alongside a variety of screenings that showcase a diverse range of talents, themes, and filmmaking techniques. Additionally, the festival honors outstanding contributions with prestigious awards, celebrating the cream of the crop.

Furthermore, we invite you all to come and watch the films selected for the Competition section, free of charge, on March 23rd starting at 1 PM at the François-Brassard theater.

Au Coeur du Court

During the festival, a group of cegep students will immerse themselves in an experience called Au Coeur du Court. The participants will watch and analyse every film in the Official Compatition, from which they will assemble a program that reflects their own tastes. To guide them in this initiation to festival programming, two film teachers will accompany them throughout the process. There will also be a meeting with two professional programmers, who will discuss the experience with the students and give them some tips and tricks.

In the fall of 2024, the program resulting from Au Coeur du Court will be made available to all cegeps in Quebec that request it.
