Synopsis

Yahya, a young man in a wheelchair from a marginalized neighborhood in Tunisia’s capital, dreams of crossing the Mediterranean. As he grapples with his reality, a strange and transformative encounter sets him on a new path. The Bird’s Placebo, told through rotoscope and 3D animation, is a modern fable exploring migration, youth culture, and the fluidity of identity.

  • Rami Jarboui

    Rami Jarboui is a Tunisian filmmaker, born in 1990, who developed a passion for storytelling at an early age. After studying Multimedia at ISAMM in Tunis, his short film ‘Soup’ won the Grand Prix International at the Mobile Film Festival in Paris in 2017. Since then, he has directed several short fiction films that have been selected for international festivals around the world.
