Synopsis

In a Senegalese village, Penda and Moustapha have lost their 17-year-old son due to an overdose. Despite their grief, Moustapha makes a radical decision: their son will not be buried in the family cemetery because the reasons for his death make his soul impure. Penda must find a solution on her own so that her son can rest in peace beside her, against all odds.

    Born in Paris in 1991, the screenwriter and director Alpha Diallo was drawn to cinema at a very early age, as it felt like the best way for him to discover the world. He first learned through writing for the theatre.
    After a history master's at the Paris Sorbonne University, he decided to follow various writing programs and residencies. Today, he works as a screenwriter and director.
