Synopsis

Mother Lidia is an immersive and unsettling portrait of Lidia Fuentes, a Chilean healer with a divine gift for breaking curses. In her home, we see her receiving patients seeking to be cured of devastating ailments with dark and mysterious origins. Between exorcisms, unearthings, and moments of daily life, a universe is revealed where a complex and fascinating balance exists between the magical and the mundane.

  • Joaquín Nercasseau

    Joaquín Nercasseau (1998) is a Chilean filmmaker and UC graduate. In 2024, he premiered his first documentary, "O de Óscar". He recently co-directed "Mother Lidia" (2025), which premiered at the Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. He is currently developing his first feature film.

  • Juan Bautista Tagle

    Juan Bautista Tagle (1999) is a Chilean filmmaker, UC graduate, and former NYU Tisch student. He assisted filmmakers Iván Osnovikoff and Christopher Murray and worked at production companies Pista B and Mandarina Cine. His short film "Mother Lidia" (Kurzfilmtage Winterthur) is currently in distribution.
